Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Fishing Calendar (fishing-calendar.com) collects, why, and who handles it. We follow the principles of Canada's PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25 and the US state privacy laws as they apply to us.
Who is responsible
Fishing Calendar is operated by the seller of the Fishing Calendar on Etsy, an individual entrepreneur based in Ukraine. Questions, requests and complaints about your personal information go to the contact address below. That address is also the contact of the person in charge of the protection of personal information for the purposes of Quebec's Law 25.
What we collect
From your Etsy order: the recipient's name, your personal message, the lake, the nearest town, the state or province, and up to three species. We use them only to build your calendar and the bonus access that comes with it. We do not receive your payment details; the purchase happens on Etsy.
From your account on this site: your email address (used to sign in), the activation code you entered and when, the lakes you save (name and location), and the forecasts you request.
Technical data: our servers record technical information such as IP address and the pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
To produce your calendar, to let you sign in and activate your bonus access, to calculate the forecasts you ask for, to enforce the quota of 50 forecasts per 30 days, and to keep the service secure. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
We use the following providers. Some of them are located outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union, so your information may be processed there and be subject to the laws of those places.
Hosting: Hetzner (servers). DNS and traffic protection: Cloudflare. Sign-in: Clerk, which handles your email address and the one-time codes. Weather data: Open-Meteo, which receives the coordinates of the lake you ask about. Climate data: NASA POWER, which receives the same coordinates. Text of the forecast and tips: Google Gemini, which receives only the region, species, month or date, the lake name and weather values, and never your email address, name or personal message. Orders: Etsy, under its own privacy policy. Map tiles: the map in your dashboard is drawn from tiles that your browser loads straight from a map-tile provider, currently the OpenStreetMap Foundation (United Kingdom). The provider therefore sees your IP address and the area of the map you look at, but not your account or your saved lakes.
Cookies
We use only the cookies that sign-in requires. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
We send only the one-time sign-in codes, through Clerk. We do not send marketing email.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account exists. You can ask us to delete it at any time, and we will delete it unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to withdraw your consent to its use, and you may complain to us or to your privacy authority. Write to the contact address below and we will answer within 30 days.
Adults only
This site is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above. If a change matters for how we use your information, we will tell you on this site before it applies.
